Comar 7 is the specifier and installer preferred aluminium commercial door system throughout the UK. The extensive profile range designed specifically for fabricators and bespoke projects provide combinations such as:

Three ranges are available: standard, high performance and 7Pi polyamide doors. 7Pi provides durability and maximum thermal efficiency that exceed the requirements of Document L, available in sliding patio and rebated doors. Comar 7 is a commercial door system available in all configurations and Comar 7 High Performance 'Tempest' is a rebated door with exceptional weather performance.

Aluminium Door Systems

Forms the basis of an extensive range of elegant, strong and durable aluminium swing doors, sliding doors and sliding/folding doors offering: -

  • A range of door types including centre pivoted, butt hung swing, manual or automatic sliding and sliding/folding doors.
  • Accepts most automatic operation systems.
  • Optional Door Beams to house operating gear. These eliminate the need for aluminium channels & timber packing.
  • Wide range of glazing options from 4mm to 40mm thickness
  • Bolted or welded construction for security.
  • Multiple bush piles ensure excellent weather tightness.
  • Various finger guard profiles available as an important safety feature preventing fingers being trapped.
  • A choice of rail and stiles sizes offers creative scoop and square-cut rails produce almost invisible joints.
  • Low ramp drained threshold for use in severe conditions available.
  • Various finishes available including silver, bronze & black anodising to BS1615 or BS4842, liquid organic coating to BS4842 and an extensive range of colours from the Syntha Pulvin and Interpon D polyester powder coating systems all to BS6496.

Aluminium Door Systems

Thermally broken commercial 65mm door system can be used for either new build or replacement work. Main features: -

  • All doors thermally broken (‘rolled-in’ polyamide thermal barrier).
  • Double glazed (internally beaded) from 27mm to 51mm thickness.
  • Open out and open in versions with low-rise cill facility.
  • Face applied door closers or panic fittings available.
  • Low maintenance.
  • High durability.
  • U-Value of 2.2W/m²k achievable.
  • Factory finishes as COMAR 7 above.

Aluminium Doors Comar 7 --- Design Considerations

For your guidance if a Main Entrance Door in Pivot Construction with Anti-Finger Jamb Stiles was required to provide a minimum clear opening of 1000mm to meet DDA needs, then we would be seeking a minimum structural opening size of 1270mm for a single door or 2410mm for a double leaf door. Doors of other construction modes e.g. hinged & rebated, require similar structural openings. Double doors can be provided in ‘unequal leaf’ construction with the ‘Traffic Leaf’ made to provide a minimum clear opening of 1000mm.

It should be noted that in keeping with the majority of door manufacturers we do not include for any external doorstops other than the 90º overhead concealed closer. If doors are extended beyond 90º this can damage both the springs and sections and we strongly recommend the installation of a suitable door stop to suit site needs, supplied & installed by the Main Contractor. If ‘stops’ are not fitted any call outs to attend to this will be a chargeable item. Open out doors on a face of building are prone to damage caused by wind catching hold of door leaf at time of opening and the installation of a suitable external barrier is highly recommended to prevent undue damage at such an occurrence.
