Comar Architectural Aluminium Systems, with their approved fabricator Anglia Fixing Ltd, supplied Comar 5P.i. windows for a new 2-storey extension to Attwood Manor Care Home in Halstead, Essex.
The project brief for this 2-storey extension was that the new windows blend in with the existing timber windows. A Georgian effect pane was achieved by cosmetic glazing bars within the cavity of the double glazed units. The thermally broken Comar 5P.i casements were manufactured and fitted in Hipca White polyester powder coat.
Top hung casement windows were hung on projecting friction hinges with an integral restrictor device to limit the initial opening to 100mm and were also fitted with push button key locking cockspur handles at the cill. Trickle vents, through a head extension bar, were also fitted providing a free airflow per vent of 8000mm2 on these internally beaded and double glazed 28mm units.
All Comar approved fabricators are required to have the technical expertise to attend pre-site meetings and provide detailing. Anglia Fixing Ltd liaised closely with the specifiers to provide design advice and detailing which ensured the project ran smoothly and met site deadlines....

Comar Architectural Aluminium Systems, with their approved fabricator Anglia Fixing Limited, supplied Comar 5P.i thermally broken windows, Comar 6 curtain walling and Comar 7 doors for a new build industrial project for Canmoor & Kilmartin Developments Ltd., Cambridgeshire. Anglia Fixing Ltd had an existing relationship with the contractor Mitchell Design & Construct Ltd and recommended Comar Systems for the project.
Comar 6 curtain walling stick build with standard capping, pressure equalised externally glazed was selected. External pressure plates, seals and cappings fixed on internal mullions and transoms to create large contemporary entrances and glazed areas to contrast with the light brick and cladded building.
Comar 5P.i. high and low level top hung casements and matching fixed lights were internally beaded and fitted with stainless steel projecting friction hinges and an integral restrictor. Duco trickle vents through Comar head extension bars providing minimum free airflow of 8000mm2 per vent were also installed.
Comar 7 pivot doors were installed for the main entrance and fitted with AXIM concealed overhead door closers with a 90º hold open facility and ‘anti-finger trap’ stiles. The pivot doors were internally beaded and glazed with 28mm DG units. A Cool-Lite SKN174 solar control outer pane providing a ‘U’ value of 1.2 was used and all glass was toughened heat soaked. All Comar systems were finished in a matt dark grey RAL 7016 colour polyester powder coat to BS6496......

Comar Architectural Aluminium Systems, with their approved fabricator Anglia Fixing Limited, supplied Comar 5P.i thermally broken windows, Comar 6EFT curtain walling and Comar 7 doors for Phase One of a new build light industrial estate in Colchester, Essex. Anglia Fixing Limited have a good relationship with the developer and were able to reassure them that this project could be completed within the restraints of the budget and that Comar 6EFT Curtain Walling system complied with the latest CWCT standards.
Comar 5P.i top hung casement inserts were manufactured from polyamide thermally broken sections hung on heavy duty stainless steel friction hinges with a restrictor device to limit the opening to 100mm, fitted with push button key locking cockspur handles. Trickle vents were incorporated through a Comar 5P.i header bar which provided free airflow per vent of 4000mm2. The windows were internally beaded and glazed with 28mm double glazing units, using laminated safety glass to the inner pane and green anti-sun solar control toughened glass to the outer pane.
Comar 6EFT mullion drained thermally broken curtain walling system in ‘stick’ construction with drained capping, pressure equalised and drained in accordance with BS6262, was installed to create large areas of natural lighting to the building. Comar 7 Pivot doors provided a 1000mm clear opening to meet DDA requirements. The doors were fitted with concealed overhead door closers with a 90º hold open facility, maximum security hook locks, full height handles and anti-finger trap jamb stiles. All systems were finished in a matt finish Grey RAL 7012, polyester powder coated to BS6496.

Comar Architectural Aluminium Systems, with their approved fabricator Anglia Fixing Limited, supplied Comar 2 Window Walling and Comar 5P.i Windows for the glazing refurbishment of the Holy Cross Church in Harlow, Essex.
This church required complete window replacement and the project brief was to include a feature ‘cross’ to the lower portion of the centre window unit in a distinctive contrast colour. Comar 2 window walling was used with high span mullions to create the large glazed feature at the cable end with thermally broken sections. A cross was formed in a cream contrasting polyester powder coat finish from Comar 2 mid-rail sections CS 183 and CS 186 with all the other framing finished in a dark brown.
Comar 5P.i top hung casement windows were hung on stainless steel projecting friction hinges and these were fitted with folding cam openers in a satin anodised finish for both pole and hand operation. The windows were internally beaded with 28.8mm double glazed units, using laminated safety glass to the inner pane, cavity filled Argon gas and a 6.4mm laminated clear float safety glass to the outer pane.

Comar Architectural Aluminium Systems, with their approved fabricator Anglia Fixing, supplied Comar 1 and Comar 3 ground floor framing, Comar 2 window walling and Comar 7 doors for a contemporary new build Church Hall, forming part of the Kingsland Church facilities in Lexden, Colchester. The main project criteria for the hall required that the building complied with sound insulation, privacy planning requirements and adhered to strict budget restraints.
Comar 2 window walling was selected for the exterior, using thermally broken sections. The interior vestibule screens were made from Comar 1 and single glazed with clear laminated safety glass. Lower level screens featured a white opaque privacy film, which was applied internally.
External entrances were Comar 7 commercial rebated doors, fitted with AXIM surface mounted overhead door closers with a 90° hold open facility and maximum security hook locks. The fire exit door was fitted with AXIM panic exit device and hook locks, but without any external furniture. Lobby doors incorporated double action pivots and featured anti finger-trap stiles. All doors were internally beaded with double glazed units and fitted with toughened safety glass......

Phoenix Place office development located in Basildon, Essex tenants include the local NHS Primary Health Care Trust. Dovetail Architects designed the building, selecting W.A. Hills as the contractor, with Comar approved fabricator Anglia Fixing Limited to complete the glazed element of the facade.
In this project the Kingspan Optimo range of cladding panels was selected and at every storey ribbon windows were incorporated from the Comar 5Pi thermally efficient range. Comar 5Pi tilt and turn windows were selected. These can be tilted to allow ventilation and, when unlocked, can be opened in to allow cleaning from the inside. To the perimeter of these windows Comar’s Kingspan cladding adaptors (CS486 and CS487) were fitted which allowed the window to be directly integrated into Kingspan without the need for additional flashings or packings. Anglia Fixing Limited utilised Comar 5Pi corner posts which allowed the neat corner return as well as maintaining the slim sight lines of the window frames.
To create feature and contrast to the Kingspan cladding, Comar 6 curtain walling was installed. Comar 6 offers a slim 50mm sight line with a multitude of transoms and mullions to cater for all deflection loads and configurations......

Poringland Library is part of a new build community development in Norfolk which also features a Community Centre and Police Station. NPS Property Consultants designed the library, selecting Morgan Ashurst Limited as the contractor and Comar approved fabricator Anglia Fixing Limited to complete this contemporary project. Anglia Fixing Limited has an excellent relationship with the developer and were able to reassure them that this project could be completed successfully using Comar products against their usual preferred supplier.
Comar 2 suite of thermally broken sections was installed and low level Comar 5P.i top hung casement inserts were manufactured from polyamide thermally broken sections hung on heavy duty stainless steel friction hinges with a restrictor device to limit the opening to 100mm. All were fitted with push button key locking cockspur handles. High level Comar 5P.i top hung windows were hung on butt hinges and operated by chain activators. Complete trickle vents were incorporated through Comar 2 & 5P.i header bars which provided free airflow per vent of 4000 - 8000mm2.
To shade the façade Comar–Ducosun 100C in-frame solar shading complete with struts to suit a 1600mm horizontal projection was specified. The blades, rafters and struts are all part of the unique Ducosun multi-fit system which allows fast track installation with its “clicks and glide” assembly. The solar shading was polyester powder coated in a white RAL 9006. The overall length of the shading is approximately 10.7M......

Comar Architectural Aluminium Systems, with their approved fabricator Anglia Fixing Limited, supplied Comar 2 Window Walling, Comar 5P.i Windows and Comar 7 Swing Doors for a new build church. A key requirement for this project was that the glazing featured an imposing cross design within a number of different units.
Comar 2 Screens were constructed using thermally broken sections and fixed panes. Comar 5P.i windows tilt and turn, side and top hung configurations were internally beaded and glazed with 24mm double glazed units using toughened safety glass. Side and top hung casements were fitted with projecting safety hinges and internal restrictor devices to limit the initial opening and espagnolette multipoint key locking for ventilation and security. The high level top hung casements were fitted with butt hinges. The tilt and turn casements were fitted with key locking handles and adjustable trickle vents, complete with an external fly screen.
Comar 7 Swing Doors were used for the main entrance and fire escape. Manually operated single action Fire Exit Doors with a pivoted construction were fitted using Axim overhead concealed door closers with a 90º hold open facility, maximum security hook lock handles inside and out, anodised finish low threshold bar and completed with ‘anti-finger trap’ stiles.
