Subframe is a fully drained aluminium combination screen and window system utilising an integral rebate in the outer frame to accept either beaded fixed light glazing or top/side hung opening window vents. The system provides a highly cost effective solution to non-thermal or thermally broken glazing with a requirement for natural ventilation. Used extensively in school and hospital projects, it also provides excellent glazed walkways due to the structural capacity of the main frame members. Construction
Subframe main framework is butt jointed and assembled using stainless steel self-tapping screws into integral screw ports extruded in the body of the main sections. Vertical sections run through, and the horizontal sections are square cut and then machined to locate over the vertical rebates. Opening vent units are mitred and mechanically crimped using support chevrons and cleats to ensure alignment. Individual modules can be fully assembled and then transported to site for multi-panel assembly. Glazing Subframe is a fully drained, dry glazed system with captive and wedge gaskets. Differing gasket and bead combinations allow both single and double-glazing for glass thickness between 4mm and 28mm in both fixed light and vent areas. All glazing should be carried out to BS6262. Performance Subframe Aluminium Window Wall has been tested and classified in accordance with BS6375: 1989. Test reports are available.
